Take in the views of the beautiful Oregon coastline aboard the Candy Cane Express at Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad! Nothing evokes the holidays like a historic train, and a ride aboard the Candy Cane Express is filled with holiday cheer for the whole family! Beautifully decorated both inside and out, a ticket on this steam-powered train ride comes complete with complementary hot cocoa and locally baked cookies delivered right to your seat. As the journey commences, passengers will get to write letters to Santa while awaiting a visit from the man in the red suit himself! And nothing will get your family in the spirit of the season more than singing along to Christmas Carols performed by a live musician! This round-trip excursion departs Garibaldi and turns around at Rockaway Beach for a one hour round trip ride that is sure to be a treasured holiday memory for the everyone on board!
Seating Options:
Passengers are required to select their seats in a specific car when booking tickets. You may elect to select specific seat numbers using the Seat Map or the ticketing system will automatically assign your seats.
If you are booking your group on separate reservations, please ensure that your seats are in the same car and refer to seat numbers if you wish to all sit together. Use our seat map tool to find the best seats when booking and please contact us if you have any issues with seating.

Outdoor Cars:
Covered Car – Outdoor that has a roof but no windows. A great way to be immersed in the scenery as you roll along!
Indoor Cars:
Coach Car – 1920’s passenger car with cushioned seats. Fully enclosed with windows and a roof.
50s Table Cars – Art Deco Dining Cars with tables and chairs. These are fully enclosed with windows and a roof.
Table Car – 1910 dining car. Has tables and chairs, and is fully enclosed with windows and a roof. This car also houses the gift shop!
Caboose Rental:
The caboose charter is an exclusive experience aboard Candy Cane Express where you and your party can rent our entire caboose! The caboose comfortably holds 8 people, with a maximum of 10 people. The price of the charter includes as many people as you wish to bring up to 10 people.

Check-in will occur at the yellow depot shed at Garibaldi. Please have your QR codes available for scanning or check-in by giving the first and last name that the reservation was made under to the depot agent. They will direct you to the specific numbered boarding gate based on car you’re assigned to sit in. A boarding staff member will then direct you to your specific seats as you board the train. Please do not sit in a car or seat other than the one you’re assigned to sit in!
Dogs:
Dogs are allowed aboard the Candy Cane Express in our outdoor covered car! Only task trained service animals are allowed in the indoor cars.
Accessibility:
This train is wheelchair accessible via a portable wheelchair lift! Please call ahead if you will need the lift and plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before the departure time so we can best assist you!Due to the historic nature of the cars, restrooms on board the train are not wheelchair accessible.
All Tickets are Round Trip Tickets, there is no layover in Rockaway Beach.
