Eagles soar, and migratory and permanent birds take to the skies in the many marine sanctuaries around Cannon Beach. During the months of mid-December through mid-January, in the longest migration of any mammal on Earth, an estimated 18,000 Gray Whales can be seen migrating just offshore at Cannon Beach. Watch the herds of majestic Roosevelt Elk coming out of the wooded hills, grazing in meadows and walking through town. The decreased crowds and quiet atmosphere are the perfect time to see some of the most beautiful creatures on the planet!
